Why Anusara Yoga?
In the 10 years that I have been practicing Yoga, and the 4 years that I have been teaching, no experience has been as profoundly life-changing as my discovery of Anusara Yoga in 2008.
It was a sunny summer day in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming, that I walked into my first Anusara class at Akasha Yoga Studio. My first Anusara Teacher, Neesha Zollinger, spoke a lot about opening to grace, about...

Purificatory Dreams
I find myself in a field with a pregnant girl. It’s lightly raining. The water begins to swirl and forms a twister which becomes a tornado. It comes and picks us up, and I am scared. I tell my friend, but really myself, to relax and go with it because tense muscles and resisting will only worsen the impact of dropping back to earth. I think i read about that somewhere..
We hit the ground...
miladyproductions asked: by some miracle i found this today and it picked me up out of my doubts and propelled me, hugged me,dusted me off and sent me back to my true creative faithful self.
and for that, i am eternally grateful.
thank you!!

Just like falling
Punch fear in the face & Go for it!
Over the past few weeks several significant events have transpired in my life. Some being rather painful and difficult, others quite beautiful and auspicious, they have all caused me to step back and think about why I do the things that I do. Why? How do my routine activities indicate what I believe to be my life’s purpose on this planet? Am I moving daily in the direction of my heart’s...

a beautiful terror
I am still dreaming
of hanging from cliff edges
I wake with a pang
of cold delicious Fear
this wet and throbbing body
proclaims itself to me
My left eyelid swollen shut
I hear the small dog’s throat rattle
There are many passing voices
outside the tall window shut
And suddenly
I have such clarity
that my skin swims frightened
with aliveness
yoga: why? because!
Yoga for me is not just a physical or spiritual practice limited to a certain square of time in my schedule. It may have begun that way, but now yoga infiltrates every aspect of my life. I have been practicing yoga for 10 years and teaching for 3, but I still consider myself a beginner. It is much more interesting to approach the practice with beginners eyes, and ask “what can I learn...

The Summer Day
by Mary Oliver
Who made the world? Who made the swan, and the black bear? Who made the grasshopper? This grasshopper, I mean- the one who has flung herself out of the grass, the one who is eating sugar out of my hand, who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down- who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes. Now she lifts her pale forearms and...

Back to REAL_ity(?)
2 weeks ago I went to colombia for a week. It was the first real vacation i’d had in years. Not traveling to see family, not traveling for a training, or for work in some way, but a real honest to god vacation (palm trees, beaches, relaxation and all). But of course a week of adventure, romance, and beauty was not enough. It only wet my palette for all the other places to discover, people to...

New Book by My Amazing Cousin Natalie Lyalin
My wonderful, beautiful, talented cousin, Natalie Lyalin is a fantastic writer and has just released her new book of poetry!!
Try a Little Time Travel is a study of careening through time, danger in the woods, and lost children. It explores the theme of safety and uncertainty in everyday things. It could be a meditation on the monsters all around us. It could be a good argument for the creation...
